WEEK FOUR MINGLE
ᯓ⭐ WEEK FOUR MINGLE
Heya, lovebirds! You're entering the final week and things sure are... great.
Right?
Well, whether you're feeling great or not, you're going to find yourself looking your best in formal wear this week! Suits, gorgeous dresses, fabulously outlandish outfits, you name it, you're stuck in it. No sweatpants or lab coats for anyone this week. We have standards.
And we also believe in telling the truth, one way or another!
That's right, if you're asked a question, any question at all, no matter how innocent or dire, you are compelled to speak your most truthful answer. It could be who you think is the hottest in the castle. It could be your opinion on orange juice. Whatever it is, there is no longer a brain-to-mouth filter in place!
And maybe you'll figure that out and all decide to be merciful, but Riri will be popping up every now and then. And Riri? Riri will not be merciful.
Except for one thing, and that's a note in the main room that states simply: You all suck at this, so this week, our good ol' lesbian duo can now speak normally. You're welcome. ♥

oz takes in those observations quietly, his gaze drifting toward his glass. well... he nods. ]
That may be so.
[ if it comes down to similarities, that would be— ]
If it is on the basis of what lays on the surface, our paths converged do not appear to cause discord.
[ does he know better than that? not really, he's been alone for a while. but these things are just on paper, so... ]

and then later this happens and he circles back to oz with a bottle of vodka (honestly, he really wishes he could have sake considering how wild things have gotten but alas.)
he tilts his head. want a refill oz?
he won't say anything, he doesn't think he needs to. ]

oz does not drink away his problems, he just ignores them and lets them fester.... but in this instance, perhaps he does indulge. this entire thing is a tiring, dangerous, western circus. a notherner's natural weakness.
he's not entirely surprised, given the events, that uroko returns. they have not spoken so directly about the things gripping their hearts tightly, but there is a feeling. ]
... You are coming by often.
[ it is an acknowledgment, but not a probing statement. he's careful with what he says, because he's still not entirely sure what pulls the mess of oversharing that happened previously. ]

I go where I'm wanted. And that God does not like fish. [ so yes he'll say it's about that on a surface level, he's told oz as much about the sea god before and the inference is not hard to draw. and as for oz himself, it is a feeling on his end too. ]
no subject
this is where something serious would go, but oz can only manage: ]
... You are a scale, and Uroko.
[
that is not fish? is he missing the point?
not that he feels uroko needs to concern himself with zhongli's preferences anyway, which is nothing against the god either. it only Is. ]
no subject
(he sees it, but uroko was made to be the antithesis of such a thing. to him, it's simple, though in by being so, it does sometimes swing back around to complicated. ) ]
Uroko means scale in the sea I come from. But you are correct, I am not a fish. That he sees me as one does concern me beyond this game.
[ not that he thinks him and zhong li are a match, but it concerns uroko for how narrow minded he thinks zhong li is being. ]
no subject
... A word may have multiple meanings. When it becomes a name, it gains additional power.
[ oz knows uroko may mean is as a joke, or perhaps not, but he does say that surprisingly earnestly. a name is a name, powerful and unflinching. ]
I cannot say to understand his thoughts leading up to that. You are not shaped like a fish.
[ but it's also why oz cannot entirely make comments on it. ]
no subject
[ uroko says it casually, but it's also meant (and amused). uroko does not say thank you, but it seems apt here so he doesn't think twice about it.
a pause to sip at his vodka. ]
I have scales, but I can only turn into a blue flame, not a fish. Perhaps he doesn't like fire either?
no subject
oz can't take in those scales in the fancy clothes they've forced them into. he vaguely recalls what they look like, in a sea of everything else within him. they shone a bit like mana stones. ]
If he could grasp the possibilities of your magic, I would have been the target of similar thoughts. That shape is possible for me.
[ he wouldn't. but, like, he could. ]
... It may be his dislike runs so deeply that mere association is enough.
[ what a picky eater, if that's the case. ]
no subject
Oh? Perhaps the Sea God could turn into more forms, but for me it is this and a blue flame. Though I think if I were to die, I would be reduced to a pile of salt.
He might just have a boring taste all around. But, that doesn't explain his interest in you.
[ this sure is a conversation they're having. ]
no subject
there's a flash of that, of questioning, in his eyes, which he leaves unvoiced. for now? perhaps for now. ]
It is a matter of convenience. Many have been interested for the same reasons over the years... Perhaps.
[ he doesn't really remember all of it, but his ass says that easily. that's just how it's been in the north... he was there, it matched with their needs, and so they bound themselves to him. ]
no subject
I'm not surprised. At least this time it seems to be a matter of his dignity, or however else he's construing it, and nothing else.
