WEEK FOUR MINGLE
ᯓ⭐ WEEK FOUR MINGLE
Heya, lovebirds! You're entering the final week and things sure are... great.
Right?
Well, whether you're feeling great or not, you're going to find yourself looking your best in formal wear this week! Suits, gorgeous dresses, fabulously outlandish outfits, you name it, you're stuck in it. No sweatpants or lab coats for anyone this week. We have standards.
And we also believe in telling the truth, one way or another!
That's right, if you're asked a question, any question at all, no matter how innocent or dire, you are compelled to speak your most truthful answer. It could be who you think is the hottest in the castle. It could be your opinion on orange juice. Whatever it is, there is no longer a brain-to-mouth filter in place!
And maybe you'll figure that out and all decide to be merciful, but Riri will be popping up every now and then. And Riri? Riri will not be merciful.
Except for one thing, and that's a note in the main room that states simply: You all suck at this, so this week, our good ol' lesbian duo can now speak normally. You're welcome. ♥

As if to spite Oz, the bottle points straight at him on Mithra's turn. Mithra, who's been lazily observing the game's proceedings up to this point, lifts his head with the faint arch of both eyebrows. Well, then.]
no subject
his glance slides upwards, towards mithra. ]
Mithra of the North.
[ he's resorting to titles because he has no idea what he's doing, help. you will not sits on his lips, but the implication that it would be equivalent to backing down knocks that thought straight out of his head. ]
... Do not make that expression.
no subject
What expression is that?
no subject
he would leave it at that. the question, however, prompts a- ]
I cannot describe it. It would mean knowing what you are thinking, in a situation such as this.
[ ....... ah. his eyes narrow, words settling in the air for a moment before he moves on from them completely. as if unsaid. ]
... You are delaying the game. Do you plan on following through?
[ if kiss, no talk. ]
no subject
Oh, wait. Mithra knows why. It's the same reason he continues to delay the game by answering the question posed to him while his expression takes an exasperated turn.]
Of course I do. I wouldn't have spun the bottle if I didn't.
[He holds an arm out.]
Please hurry up and come here, so I can dip you.
no subject
You will not.
[ decisively.
the thing he meant to say, said now. skipping this completely may be shirking his duty, however ridiculous (necessary) it may be... but the nature of how this plays out is entirely within his control. ]
You will be the one dipped.
no subject
Huh? There's no way that's happening. [He flaps his fingers, beckoning impatiently. Must Oz be so difficult at all times?] I spun the bottle, and I'm taller as well. The one most suited to dip here is me.
no subject
though oz does pause a little, as if he's trying to craft something in response. really, he's just trying to recall the rules of the game. ]
The bottle and the one who spins it holds no influence over who or who does not dip. Do not add your own rules.
[ it's confusing. you know what else is confusing? ]
... Are you taller?
[ it's 2cm. it's been XXXX years. he hasn't paid attention. ]
no subject
Annoying as Oz's argument is, Mithra's lips curl into a proud smile at what comes next. This time, Oz will surely have no choice but to admit defeat.]
I am. I'm definitely taller.
/2
is he truly taller...? how odd. oz takes this opportunity to come over, and obviously this means mithra's won, except it's only so he can look at this from a more accurate point.
after a reasonable (for oz) amount of observation: ]
So you are.
[ so he is. ]
no subject
If it is relevant, I will adjust my form when I dip you.
[ now that that novelty's out of the way! ]
no subject
Hang on. How petty are you? Height is height. Please accept your defeat and let me dip you already.
no subject
but there it is again. it's a question oz knows doesn't warrant a direct answer- ]
... I do not know.
[ -he hasn't thought about it. maybe he is, if the things he considered trivial in the past are coming into focus now. he could be pettier than he knows.
they really are talking too much. ]
You have offered nothing that will convince me to submit. There is no defeat to accept.
no subject
And stop saying words, Oz. It's disturbing.]
There is.
no subject
Which is all she will be doing for right now, thank you: just watching.]
no subject
oz opens his mouth to speak (gross) once more, closing it slowly once he realizes the futility. mithra would accept an all out brawl for the Right Of Dipping, but a magic brawl that would destroy the grounds seems overkill for something like this.
oh. ]
Mithra.
[ you know, That Voice. ]
We will settle this with the decision making ritual from the Sage's world. "Rock, Paper, Scissors."
[ he's seen the younger wizards do it. it's peaceful. it's fast. it's decisive. ]
no subject
I'm aware of what that is.
[Because he's the Sage's favorite. It's ridiculous that Oz feels the need to bring this up, but, considering that it's something the Sage introduced to them, Mithra only needs a fleeting moment to concede that it's as good as a fight.]
Very well. Then we'll settle this with a single round.
no subject
no, kidding. but oz knew that mithra would not disagree with a method brought to them by the sage, which... truly, credit to the sage for what they've done for all of them.
he nods, short and proper. ]
Indeed. We will proceed by saying the name of the ritual, and producing our choices on "shoot". Let us begin.
[ or pon i guess since akira taught it but autotranslate hits this. like magic words: ]
Rock.
[ dramatic. ]
Paper.
[ riveting. ]
Scissors.
[ potentially dangerous. ]
Shoot.
[ and this is where oz throws out his choice: scissors. ]
no subject
. . . Shoot.
[Mithra lowers a fist for rock. Is it because he can't be bothered to unfurl his fingers, or because there's a certain symbolism behind the gesture? Who knows. Either way, there's a beat before he dons the most smug look known to their kind.]
I win.
no subject
all oz can think is: this is going to be troublesome, isn't it, upon seeing the look on mithra's face. much like fate, there is no room for him to manipulate the results; what it is is what it is.
impassively: ]
... You will be the one to dip.
[ do not be annoying about this, implied oz fruitlessly. ]
no subject
This is too good, though. How often does he get to lord a victory over Oz? Things are finally starting to look up for Mithra.]
Ah, yes. After all, I'm the one who's won that right.
[He holds an arm up and out again, beckoning with the gesture.]
Please come closer, so that I can dip you.
